More About DUCATI Sliders

We are proud to announce the release of AXLJAK RACING "Duc Pucks." For those of you that have already suffered damage to your bike due to the lack of quality sliders for your Ducati, WE APOLOGIZE FOR NOT HAVING THEM SOONER!

Have you purchased sliders thinking that they'd protect your bike during a crash only to find that they created more damage than they prevented? Photo #1 is a prime example of what happens when a band aid is applied as a solution. It's simple, the puck takes a hit during a crash, the bolt bends inside the cases and cracks them just before the puck snaps off. Here the owner was lucky to have his cases welded. Other people haven't been as fortunate.

Here at AXLJAK RACING we like to sell products that prevent as much damage as possible. Evolving from our SV650 and Thruxton sliders, we've developed some seriously stout units that have already stood up to the rigors of testing. The location of our pucks, as you can see from photo #2, provides convenience for customers that have already tested other brands and are ready to replace them. We've used a similar mounting technique but have added much needed support. All of our sliders have been called "Frame Sliders" because they've always clamped to the frame of the bike they're mounted to.

What we've done is isolate the engine bolt from the stresses induced during a crash. This is done by using an outrigger plate to clamp onto a frame member. While we also use the engine bolt as a mounting point we employ heavy duty stainless stand offs that tighten onto a stainless threaded rod which replaces the stock engine bolt. The puck is then bolted through the outrigger plate into the outer end of the stand off. It's this 10mm stainless bolt that takes the brunt of the load. We've been using 8mm bolts with great success on our SV650 Sliders but upgraded to a 10mm bolt due to the extra length of these pucks.

If you look at the red circle you'll see another feature exclusive to our sliders. We machine 6 points so that they protrude from the puck mounting surface. This bites into the pucks to keep them from rotating during a crash and loosening.
